Enjoy a walk through New Orleans’ elegant Garden District, once part of the plantation owned by Bienville, the founder of New Orleans. Visit the "American" section of New Orleans on this Garden District Home Tour..
Built to rival the architectural splendor of the Creoles' French Quarter, this historic and elegant neighborhood is known for its Greek Revival and Italianate architecture.
The homes of former Kings and Queens of Mardi Gras are located here, as well as the home of the premier family of football - the Mannings - where Archie lives and Peyton and Eli grew up. You'll also see the former residence of celebrated author Anne Rice, as well as the house where Jefferson Davis died in 1889; and Toby’s Corner, the oldest house in the area (built in 1838).
EXCLUSIVE! Tour the interior of the Opera Guild Home, circa 1865, on the only tour that takes you inside one of the beautiful mansions of the Garden District!
Visit Lafayette Cemetery, one of our Cities of the Dead, and learn about our unusual above-ground burial system. (Cemetery is closed on Sundays and some holidays.)
Includes refreshment stop and transportation to and from Garden District.

This tour will not operate on Mardi Gras Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day.
Due to the Opera Guild Home's historic nature, access is by stairs only.
This is a walking tour on uneven sidewalks and streets, so please wear comfortable shoes.
During warmer months, guides recommend that you wear lightly colored clothing; caps/hats and umbrellas are also suggested.
There are high-tech wireless headsets included on the Garden District Home Tour. With the wireless tour system, you can hear every word spoken by the tour guide clearly and distinctly no matter how noisy the environment. The tour guide wears a belt pack transmitter and head-worn microphone that they turn on at the start of the tour. You will be issued your own small receiver with a lightweight "over the ear" speaker. Simply turn them on and adjust the volume to a comfortable level. The system is also a favorite for the hearing impaired as they can increase the volume level to meet their individual needs. It improves the quality of the tour because no one has to crowd to the front of the group or strain to hear what the tour guide is saying. You can be up to 150 feet away and still receive the same clear high fidelity audio transmission. The audio system cannot be used during inclement weather.
Hotel pick-up not included; meeting location in the French Quarter will be specified on your E-Ticket.
There are no refunds. All sales are final.
